Mark Stasney kicked off his professional career as a Mechanical Engineer and Process Supervisor roles with E.I.DuPont de Nemours in LaPorte, Texas where he and Matt became fast friends. After five years, he transitioned to SACHEM, Inc., a family-owned high purity chemical company where he spent the next 18 years in positions of increasing breadth and responsibility, including Factory Engineering and Operations, Territory Sales, Segment Marketing and leadership of Product Development teams. While with SACHEM, Mark kicked off an extended professional career stint in Asia, living Mainland China with his family where he was responsible for a high purity chemical factory as well as two factories in Japan. While in Mainland China, he moved to Marian, Inc. where he assumed business leadership and P&L responsibility of first Marian’s Suzhou factory, then eventually all three Marian factories in China. This intense and fast-moving business environment in China included working with talented and amazing local Chinese leadership to manage a business with over 5000 employees and growing a critical supplier relationship with Apple, Inc. Mark’s background includes a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (Texas A&M) and a Masters of Business Administration (University of Texas at Dallas); he also served as an Officer in the Texas Army National Guard in a Combat Engineer unit. Mark lived nine years in Mainland China and four years in Hong Kong with his wife of 27 years and four children. He started and led both a Cub Scout Pack and Boy Scout Troop in China, including expatriate families from over 20 different countries. Mark now lives in Galveston, Texas where he’s working to focus on community economic development since landing back in the USA in 2022.
